Morocco
Morocco, a name that evokes palaces surrounded by sumptuous
gardens, lively souks with spice scents, buzzing streets of passers-by and
horses dressed as princesses, the days of fantasy ...
But it would be a pity to limit oneself to this theatrical setting.
The important thing in Morocco is what goes on behind the scenes. Thus, in a
medina, it is by leaving the wider streets that one goes to the people, in dark
alleys that one finds the most beautiful doors, those behind which flourish the
most luxurious palaces .. .
Morocco will reveal its secrets to you only once you are confident,
but for that, you have to take the trouble to go to the other ... other who, it
falls well, has here a formidable sense of home.
Finally, Morocco is also magnificent landscapes, between sea and
mountain (sometimes snowy), green valleys and fertile plains, desert plateaus
and oases. Travelers in search of nature and large spaces will be satisfied.
Located at the northwest tip of North Africa, the country stretches
thousands of kilometers along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. Between Al
Hoceima, Tangier, Essaouira, or Agadir, lovers of beaches, water sports of all
kinds will necessarily find their happiness there.
The country is divided by the Atlas Mountain Range which rises more
than 4000 meters between the great plains of the north and the desert to the
south. The diversity of the landscapes is so varied that you can go on
excursions: the palm groves of the Ziz valley and the impressive gorges of
Dadès and Todgha in the south of Morocco, treks or mules rides in the Atlas,
with The discovery of multiple villages constructed in adobe (mixture of earth and
straw) perched on the side of mountain.
The scenery and the discoveries are also lived in the cities. The
circuit of the Imperial cities, Rabat, Fes, Meknes and Marrakech is the first.
Roman Ruins of the Chellah in Rabat and Volubilis near Meknes; A visit to the
old Medina of Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a maze of tiny alleys,
magnificent houses, colorful stalls, fragrant odors, teeming with life and
activity; The Oudayas district on the ocean in Rabat, and its Kasbah, the
famous Djema El Fna square in Marrakech. These cities are surrounded by
ramparts, include magnificent mosques including the Koutoubia in Marrakech
(only the Muslims can enter).
Casablanca, built by the French at the beginning of the 20th
century, is the great economic city of the Kingdom, dominated by the Hassan II
mosque, a showcase of the wealth of Moroccan handicrafts (which can be visited
as a group). Tangier, on the edge of the Straits of Gibraltar, is the former
international city, Larache is characterized by its whitewashed houses and blue
doors, and most small towns are worth a detour.
Morocco is a temperate country where the sun is hot. Each season
deserves its region, you can spend Christmas in Marrakech by taking advantage
of the swimming pools, to make escapades in early spring from Ouarzazate, to
the south, to take a siesta in the summer on the Mediterranean beaches in the
shade of the palm trees, and Discover the imperial cities in the autumn ... The
availability of hotels is important enough to find space at all seasons of the
year.
Moroccan architecture and culture are rich. We must admire the
zelliges (kinds of plaster bas-reliefs), the stucks, the moucharabiehs (wooden
trellises on the windows, which had to conceal the people looking outwards). We
must see the fantasias, races of riders Launched at a gallop, firing their
archaic rifles towards the sky. One must listen to the sounds of the medina,
where all activities are mixed. You have to smell the smells of the spice
stalls, or those of the roses of the south of Morocco. You must taste a
pastilla under a caidal tent, in the company of warm hosts. This country
vibrates all the senses, in all the senses! Morocco is a country where it is
very good to live: between climate, cultural wealth, landscapes, hospitality, everything
is good to take.
A true cultural identity in the heart of a wonderful and rich
country, ancestral cities, varied and welcoming coasts, warm mountain, desert
and luxuriant palm groves .. The shimmering feminine djellabas rivals the
kindness of the Moroccans.
A trip to Morocco generally generates a second, so much the desire
to discover this country intensifies as it is discovered.
