Dubai Shopping Festival is a festival born on February 15, 1996 and focused on the promotion of Dubai as a leading shopping city. It is organized as a tourist attraction (rare of its kind) and runs for a month in the first quarter of the year.

The Dubai shopping festival was postponed in 2006 following the death of Sheikh Maktoum ben Rachid Al Maktoum1.

At this world-renowned festival, millions of shopaholics flock to storefronts and 2,500 stores in Dubai for duty free sales.
