Nizwa Castle It is one of the oldest castles in oman and is located in the province of the interior. It is unique in its circular shape. Its height is 24 meters and its outer diameter is 43 meters and the internal diameter is 36 meters. It has seven wells and multiple openings for the defenders of the citadel, built by Imam Sultan bin Saif al-Yaraibi In the middle of the seventeenth century AD, the imam who expelled the Portuguese from Oman. The fortress is connected to a fortress with complex corridors. The building of the citadel took 12 years, and it is near the castle building and the fortress of the traditional Nizwa market, which is famous for its craftsmanship.
Unique and unique Nizwa fortress in Amman, specifically in the center of the city named Nizwa. Because of its high height and its unusual circular shape, which increases the radiation of hardness and strength, the stone is doubly large enough to denote its immunity. This simple form must have been apparent, but it holds magical meanings, telling the story of the castle.
It was built in 1650 by the Imam, Sultan ibn Saif ibn Malik al-Yaarbi, after he lost his evil in the "masters of the eastern seas" - the Portuguese who controlled the waters of the Arabian Gulf and the so-called Indian Ocean.
To expect defeat by your enemy, by bringing to your land occupied, is not easy. It is customary to commemorate the occasion on the day of victory and joy. There is another side: the booty in the Arabic language of yesterday, and the gains in today's language. The spoils were associated with this castle, as the costs of building it came from one of the victories of Saif bin Malik al-Yaraibi.

The Imam was a ruler worthy of the title and respect, aware of the nature of Oman and its topography, as well as the state of Nizwa, located inside the country not on its lasurian coast, was marked by its location. From here, the castle, which bears the name of the state, would have to be far from an impregnable fortress.

Much of the circular construction was underground, and what we see above is only a part of the circular fort. As if it were a whole city in its midst, with its many hills, its twelve wells, those openings that had a lame defensive function; holes for pouring boiling oil, and another for pouring boiled molasses, and openings for boiling water. Scorching liquids will sink and maim but kill, who tries to enter Nizwa Castle.

As well as those traps placed in the hollow of the place, the infiltrator, while delivered from the scorching liquids, will find himself a stone trap prisoner, led him to the meandering and many lower paths to the invincible maze in this legendary building. Of course, the place houses cells and cells for those who have driven themselves to sneak into the unique castle.

These are the longitudinal cracks that surround the perimeter of Nizwa Castle, from which the rapids release arrows towards the aggressor and the gaseous, and there are larger openings specifically for the enemy's artillery with gunpowder.
