Who are the most annoying travelers?

annoying travelers

Both fast and very comfortable, current means of transport are an invitation to relax. However, some travelers still find a way to annoy their transport companions by their attitudes and behavior during these journeys. Here is a list of the 10 most annoying traveler types:

"The Talker"

He is the type of traveler who tells you about his life throughout the flight. From his romantic disappointments, through his passion for ice hockey or even his communication problems with his superior, nothing will have more secrets for you at the end of the trip. To put an end to an endless conversation, you have several options: pretend to be asleep or put on your headphones to listen to your favorite music.

“The patient” or the person susceptible to motion sickness

There is nothing more unpleasant than having a patient next to you who keeps blowing his nose and coughing during the whole trip or, even worse, vomiting! If you are out of shape or suffer from motion sickness while travelling , take precautions by having a small first aid kit on hand with medications that will help you fall asleep so as not to disturb your neighbors.

"The Seeker"

He's the kind of person who keeps bothering you asking you to do something like use your headphones to watch a movie, swap your place with his so he can sit next to his wife. or his friend, to borrow your pillow under the pretext that they need two pillows to get to sleep, … Refuse politely and firmly because he risks asking you for something else if you grant one of his requests.

“The loaded” … or rather the “overloaded”

The loaded? It's the traveler who likes to carry too much carry-on baggage . He will need your help to fit his bulky bags into the obviously too small compartment. He will ask you to put his excess baggage in the space in front of your feet, because he cannot store it properly. As before, be firm and advise him to speak to the hostess to find a solution.

"Animal Lover"

Even if you adore your dog or your cat, that's no reason why your neighbor has to put up with his yelps or meows for eight hours of flight! Airlines provide passengers with cages for animals weighing more than 4 or 6 kilos so that they can travel comfortably in the hold. By train, the SNCF requires a suitable basket or bag to keep animals weighing less than 6 kilos. If you know your pet is anxious while travelling, ask your vet for medication that will soothe him (and your neighbors!) while traveling.

"The Workaholic"

This is the passenger who irritates his traveling companions by calling his office every ten minutes to follow the course of the CAC 40 or that of the Nasdaq. Or the “first class regular” style who occupies the seat next to his with his laptop throughout the flight and taunts the other economy class passengers.

" The press "

Among the category of travelers who indispose the others the most, is the passenger who wants to get out of the plane first when his seat is at the back of the plane. While the plane is still rolling on the tarmac, Monsieur runs through the corridors to be the first in front of the door, too bad if he has to jostle the other travelers who are in his way. He's the type of person for whom the expression “there's no point in running…” doesn't make sense.

" The drinker "

Because the plane is late, he had one drink too many at the airport bar. And there he is singing at the top of his voice or loudly asking the hostess for another drink.

"The Invader"

Like the talker, he invades your space. Instead of sharing the armrest with you, it monopolizes it all to itself. When he finally falls asleep, his head leans on you. And to top it off, he also snores! It's the kind of travel companion that keeps you from enjoying comfort and calm.

“The anxious or the neurotic”

He is the annoying traveler by definition. Under the pretext that he is afraid of flying or that he has just watched a disaster movie, he communicates his anxiety to everyone. He may also get up every five minutes to go to the bathroom to lower the pressure, requiring you to get up from your seat each time to let him pass.

Traveling is often a source of pleasure, but it can be spoiled by the indelicacy of each other. To know if an attitude is likely to irritate your fellow travelers or not, simply imagine your reaction if someone adopted this behavior with you. A minimum of politeness and courtesy is always necessary so that everyone can enjoy every minute of the trip as they see fit.
