What are the things to do when you return from your trip?
return from travelYou had a great time, but all good things must come to an end, and now it's time to go home!
We often spend a lot of time preparing for a trip, but we do not suspect that on the return, some steps are also necessary in order to approach the start of the school year with serenity.
Here is a checklist of things to do when you return from your trip!
1. Check your bank account
If you have traveled outside the Eurozone, you have certainly had to draw money or even perhaps use your bank card in hotels or at local merchants. A quick look at your account will allow you to see if the amounts debited correspond to your expenses, and if nothing suspicious is hiding between the lines of the account. Remember to carefully write down your expenses or keep receipts and invoices so that you can compare them later.
2. Take care of your body
You may have taken advantage of your vacation to go on magnificent treks or hikes, to walk for hours in new places or to explore the museums of a new city. All of this is quite tiring, and if you add to that the long journey home, the jet lag and the immense motivation to go back to work (!)
It is possible that your holidays did not really rest you! If possible, try not to return just before your recovery, but to give yourself a day or two to relax and get back into a normal rhythm. This will allow you to approach your return with more serenity.

3. Make a reminder of your vaccines
If you have traveled to a region of the world where specific vaccines have been required, ask your doctor. In some cases, a booster vaccine must be done in order to be immunized for a longer period. This is for example the case of hepatitis A, recommended for trips to Southeast Asia. A booster shot of this vaccine between 6 months and 3 years after the first dose will guarantee you lifelong immunity.
4. Apply for reimbursement of medical expenses
As a well-informed person, you have of course taken out travel insurance before leaving! If, during your stay, you had some medical expenses, now is the time to request reimbursement. Remember to keep all the medical documents relating to your condition, then send them to your insurance, as well as the method of reimbursement chosen and, sometimes, a reimbursement form to complete.
If you have subscribed to our Globe Partner contract for your trip, you will find the reimbursement form which resumes the procedure here.
5. Sort your photos
If, a few days or a few weeks after your return, you feel nostalgic, no need to take an antidepressant! Nothing better than sorting through your photos to dive back into your trip for a few moments and make you relive the best (and perhaps the worst?) moments of your stay. Creating an online album to share with your family and friends or even develop some of your best shots is an activity that will lift your spirits and allow you to escape for a few moments!
6. Prepare for your next trip!
What could be better and more motivating, in this period of returning from vacation, than preparing for your next trip? It's never too early to choose a new destination and start researching.
