The e-constat auto application allows drivers to draw up an amicable report digitally. This application was created by insurance companies that are members of the Fédération Française de l'Assurance. Focus on how it works and its benefits.
What is the e-constat auto application?
The auto e-report is an alternative to the paper amicable report. Downloadable for free from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store, this application allows you to fill out a report directly from a smartphone or tablet during an accident. It responds to the evolution of digital uses because more and more people are using applications to manage their budget, for example. Attention, to use it, the accident requires fulfilling certain conditions.
He must :
to have taken place on French territory,
involve one or two motorized land vehicles,
concern vehicles registered and insured in France,
cause material damage only.
In the event that the accident has caused bodily injury, the paper report is then the only way to declare the accident to your insurer.

How to complete an e-statement?
Using the free e-constat auto application is quick and easy. The information to be provided in an e-statement includes that requested in a paper amicable statement. To properly complete an auto e-report, you must:
indicate the insurances and registrations involved,
fill in the vehicle information (contract number, name of the insured, postal code, type of vehicle, damage(s), etc.),
specifically mention the name of the driver if he is not the holder of the contract,
describe the circumstances of the accident (check boxes, place, day, time),
draw a sketch of the accident,
add details of the accident if necessary,
check the information using the summary similar to the paper report,
sign with your finger if everything is correct.
From your Matmut E-declaration application, the following sections are pre-filled:
- last name, first name and postal code of the insured,
- last name, first name, telephone and email of the driver,
- vehicle registration number,
- contract number and name of the insurance company.
The e-report is then sent to the insurer in digital format. It is also sent by email to the insured who receives a confirmation SMS at the same time. Please note, however: once the signature has been made, no changes can be made to the report.
What are the advantages of the auto e-report?
Carrying out an amicable report via the e-constat auto application has various advantages:
the drivers find their reference points because the fields to be filled in are the same as on the paper report,
the possibility of pre-filling personal information,
the report can be enriched with photos,
assistance in filling out the declaration and making a sketch,
the geolocation of the accident site,
the immediate transmission of the report.
Finally, the dematerialization of the procedure makes it possible to make corrections without having to complete everything again and to benefit from a precise geolocation service of the place of the accident.
