Draw a radius on a Google Maps map

Google Maps is perhaps best known for its ability to provide step-by-step directions, but it has another useful purpose: you can use it to create maps on which you can draw routes, lines, radii, and shapes. .
You can then save these cards or share them with others. This is a convenient way to pre-plan a trip or share routes with someone without needing an internet connection.

Open Google Maps
Open Google Maps in a browser and make sure you're signed in to your Google Account.

Three-line menu
Click the three-line menu in the upper left corner, and then, in the menu, click Your Places.

Cards tab
Click on the Cards tab at the top of the page. You should now see all the cards that you have already saved. If you've never used Your Places before, this list may be empty.

Card creation
At the bottom of the page, click Create card.

Card type
On the Untitled Map page, you can now choose the type of map you want to place the route on. Click the drop-down arrow to the left of the base map and choose the map style you prefer.

Adding a route
Under the search box at the top of the page, click Add a route. The button looks like a Y-shaped road. You should now see an untitled layer with fields to enter driving destinations.

Creation of routes
By default, you will get a route. If you want to create another type of route, such as cycling or walking, click the car icon and choose the type of route you want to draw, then click the X to close the flyout.

Enter an address
Click in the To field and enter an address or place name, then choose it when you see it appear in the search results.

Repeating the process
Repeat this process to select a location for B.

Adding destination
If you want to add more points or additional destinations, click Add destination and continue adding new locations.

Card name
When you're done, click Untitled Card at the top of the page and give it a name.
Quick tip: You can send this card to someone else using the Share link under the name you gave the card. You can also return to Your Places in the future and find this saved map in the Maps tab.

The essential
On some devices, Google Maps does not support the radius feature, you can use another online map service to draw a radius around a location.
