How online complaints work
To make a claim online, you must be registered for Online Services. If you wish to make a claim using your smartphone, we suggest that you download the Desjardins Insurance Auto-Habitation application in order to have direct access to your insurance file.
Online or over the phone, the steps are the same.
Describe the event that occurred and the damage to your vehicle.
Provide driver information for the other vehicle (if applicable).
Choose a bodybuilder to assess the damage to your vehicle.
Prefer not to come to the assessment appointment? No problem, since we offer you the Estimate by photos feature!
Estimate by photos
Depending on certain eligibility criteria, you may have access to the Photo Estimate when making an online claim. Instead of going to the bodybuilder to have your vehicle estimated for damage, you take the damage photos yourself!
To use this feature, you must download the Desjardins Insurance Auto-domicile application on your smartphone or tablet.
The course
After submitting your claim, a text or email will inform you that you have 48 hours to take photos of the damage to your vehicle.
This function will then be activated in the mobile application. Each photo you take will be accompanied by easy-to-follow instructions.
In total, you will need to send 12 photos. You can, however, send up to 6 additional photos if you feel this is relevant to the estimator.
If you exceed the 48-hour period allowed to take and send your photos, your claims adjuster will contact you to set up an appointment with the bodybuilder.
When your photos are sent, the bodybuilder will assess the amount of damage to your vehicle and call you to set up a repair appointment.
