What to see in Al Ain
Al Ain is a city with the most authentic Islamic architecture often compared to other cosmopolitan cities such as Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Here are some of the must-see tours of the city:
Camel market: The Al Ain camel market is the largest in the country and every day (except Monday) attracts many buyers and sellers from different parts of the emirates. The market may seem surprising since you will be able to see an infinity of bargained camels and finally transported in small vans.
Sheikh Zayed Palace: built in 1937 in Al Ain to serve as a residence for President Sheikh Zayed, the palace is now an interesting museum that opens all its outbuildings to unveil to its visitors.
National Museum of Al Ain: with a collection of archaeological and ethnographic elements that show the culture and local traditions during 7000 years of history, the National Museum of Al Ain is the oldest museum of the Arab Emirates.
Oasis of Al Ain: some privileged points in the desert count underground aquifers which give a little life and greenery to the surroundings. The city has several oases such as the Oasis of Al Ain located in the center, a green space where one finds an infinity of palms.
Al Jahili Fort: This royal summer residence is an important symbol of power and control. Al Jahili Fort is one of the largest in the country.
Jebel Hafeet Mountain: Located near Oman, Jebel Hafeet Mountain is one of the highest in the United Arab Emirates. We reach the summit taking a winding road, which will delight those who like to drive.
How to get to Al Ain
Excursion with guide: The best way to discover all the places of interest of the city in the company of a guide without concern.
Renting a car: If you are thinking of renting a car in Dubai, you can go quietly to Al Ain in just under two hours.
Bus: Buses leave every hour from the Bur Dubai bus station (Ghubaiba Bus Station). They are delayed 2 hours and have a rate of 30AED per trip. However, you should know that once in Al Ain, you will have to travel by taxi.
