Poverty
Is
a social phenomenon that has always existed and existed all over the world.
Our
country is also affected by this phenomenon in both urban and rural areas, the
causes of poverty are: poor distribution of goods unemployment marginalization
of certain social strata, such as the handicapped, overpopulation, corruption ...
To
combat poverty, the government has developed the National Initiative for Human
Development (INDH), and created work sites for a large number of Moroccans,
indeed, fight against unemployment ....
Globalization
Poverty
is a term that characterizes the situation of an individual, a group of people
or a society that lacks sufficient resources to meet its basic needs and
develop normally. Poverty originally refers to access to food, drinking water,
clothing, housing and heating, but with technological progress and the
development of societies it also concerns access to resources such as
electricity and communications, and generally all living conditions, including
access to health care and education. The term "poverty" refers to
that of wealth, and refers to situations of economic and political inequality
between individuals and between societies. Economics attempts to explain the
existence of poverty, as well as the mechanisms of wealth growth. Governments
have a universal concern for the phenomenon of poverty and are trying to
control it, except for the sake of the lives of individuals and groups of
people because conflicts between the poor and the rich have marked the history
of the world, and may therefore threaten the existing powers. Poverty is a major
cause of suffering, and equality between human beings is at the center of
various moral, philosophical and religious conceptions.
The
causes of poverty
Poverty
can result from chronic situations inherited from birth, the extreme case of
which is slavery, but also perpetuated from generation to generation through
social organization in relation to access to education, state of health, or
particular political status; it can also occur through incidents in a person's
life, such as spoliation, natural disasters and destruction of property,
unemployment, etc.
But
this often creates a vicious circle. Poverty requires low-cost housing, hence
in poorly reputed neighborhoods, where there is little work and a degraded
educational offer, a higher or even more violent crime, less active medical
prevention, and so on. The chances of finding income through work are lower,
the stronger temptation to resort to illegal ("black") work, illusory
sources of income (lotteries, betting) or dangerous (crime, drug) or even
degrading sources of income (prostitution), the risks of accidents are greater,
and the exploitation by mafias, or organized groups, are factors of
desocialization, even of insecurity both personal and global7,8.
This
phenomenon can affect children and adolescents, who in this context start their
lives with a disability, even if the worst is not attained for them. In
developing countries, where resources are scarce, the consequences are even
more marked (famines, health disasters, etc.).
Particularly
in the West, the spatial mobility often necessary to find employment outside
dwellings that offer few is constrained by poverty. And the cost of such
mobility (moving, traveling expenses or car ownership) is all the more
burdensome as income is low10
