Seeing ambition is not always considered in France as a sign of quality. Nourished by the adventures of Rastignac, we tend to retain only the image of a long-winded upstart.

Yet it is always ambition that motivates those who achieve great things.

The ambitious do what they have decided to do, have specific goals and work hard to achieve them. They take on challenges and find happiness in meeting them.

They take charge of their fate and do not expect others to do it. With strength and determination, they know where to go and what they are going to find there. They are imbued with their dreams and are waiting for the opportunities that will enable them to realize them.

Ambition is a major lever for personal development. No one can succeed without a certain amount of ambition. Those who want to be better, know more, do more, give more or have more, derive their motivation from bigger dreams and more distant horizons. This is how they reach their goal. Well-directed and based on true values, ambition reflects both a healthy self-esteem and a broad vision of the future.

The ambitious have eyes that sparkle at the approach of the goal, vibrate more strongly and display a communicative enthusiasm. They inspire and motivate others.

True ambitious do not lack ethics for all that. They are not manipulators. Let us not confuse the ambition stretched towards the realization of a project, a project of enterprise or a project of life based on human values, and the mediocre, strictly personal ambition often encountered in subordinate politics because , In all legitimate ambition, there is altruism, a willingness to serve others, a faith in its contribution to the change of the world.

What about those who have no ambition? As they demand little of life, they get little. No dreams, no vision, no paths to follow. Some are merely conformist, others passive, but all demotivated, bitter, vindictive. They do not see that their lack of ambition is sabotaging their future.

So yes, ambition is a quality that must be valued, but it must put itself at the service of legitimate projects and fit into a system of true values.
