Basketball  is a collective sport between two teams of five players on a rectangular terrain. The goal of each team is to pass a balloon inside a bow of 46 cm in diameter, fixed to a panel and placed at 3.05 m from the ground: the basket. Each registered basket shall be awarded two points to its team, with the exception of shots fired beyond the three-point line yielding three points and free throws awarded as a result of a foul that brings a point. The team with the highest number of points wins the game.
Basketball is practiced exclusively by hand, and players can only move ball in hand by dribbling it on the ground. The team in possession of the ball (the attackers) attempts to score points by shooting, double-pitching or dunkstand as the defending team tries to prevent them by performing ball interceptions or counters. If the shot fails, the players of both teams try to catch the ball aurebond.

1-The time of play
• The game consists of 4 periods of 10 minutes separated by an interval of 2 minutes except between the 2nd and 3rd periods where the interval is 15 minutes (half-time).
• In the event of a tie, a single extra time is played and then more if necessary until a team wins the game. Extensions are 5 minutes with an interval of 2 minutes between the 4th period and the 1st extension and 2 minutes before each extension.
How do you start a meeting?
• Each team must present five players in the field, ready to play, so that the game can begin.
• Each encounter begins with an in-between and it will be the only in-between of the game. Each new situation of in-between uses the rule of alternation:
• The team that won the ball on the 1st in-between will have to let the opposing team take possession of the ball instead of the next two. The same shall apply for the beginning of each period or extension.
• An arrow on the scoring table indicates which team will benefit from the next alternate throw-in.
2-The successful basket and its value
• A successful shot during the game has 2 points inside the 6.25 meter zone and 3 points outside the zone. The line is part of the zone of the 2 points.
• A free-throw shot counts 1 point.
3-How to play the ball?
Can we use anything other than hands to manipulate the ball?
The ball is played with hands. Playing the ball deliberately with the foot or the fist is a violation, that is to say a violation of a rule sanctioned by a throw-in granted to the opposing team behind the closest touchline.
Accidentally touching the foot is not a violation. Playing the ball on the ground even while sliding is not an offense. Riding on the ground or standing up with the ball is a violation.
4-The throw-in?
After a non-free-throw violation, a throw-in shall be made by any player on the team behind the touchline closest to the place where the offense was committed.
This player has 5 seconds to pass the ball. He can not move more than one meter from the place fixed by the referee but can retreat as much as he wishes to be at ease. The opponents must not pass the line with their arm to hinder the player making the throw-in.
5-The rule of walking
In what limits can one move with the ball?
BASIC PRINCIPLES :
O A player who receives the ball in motion can place its two ground supports at the most before dribbling, passing, shooting or stopping.
O If he stops or is already stopped, the player must stay where he first touched the ground when he caught the ball. For this purpose it can "rotate".
O Swivel is to move your free foot while keeping the first foot on the ground when you catch it (the pivot foot). This allows the player to balance, orient or feint to pass, shoot, dribble.
O Receiving the stopped ball with both feet on the ground or catching it in the air and stopping on a time by placing both feet on the ground simultaneously allows one or the other foot to be chosen as a pivot foot ( None of the feet touched the ground first).
O If the stopped player wants to start in dribbling, he must dribble (let go of the ball) before taking off his pivot foot from the ground.
O The turning player can...

6-The dribble
How can we dribble?
Dribbling is the action of bouncing the ball to the ground with one hand. The player can take as many steps as he wants when he does not have the ball in his hand. During the dribbling, the ball must be played with one hand.
BAN ON :
O Repeat a dribble after stopping the ball, having it rest in one hand or touching it with both hands.
O Take several steps while the ball remains in contact with the hand of the dribbler.
REPAIR: The ball is awarded to the opponent for a throw-in behind the nearest touchline.
7-Exits of the limits of the ground
When did a player or the ball come out of the field?
The ball is out of bounds when:
O He touches the ground or any object, player or person outside the field. The sideline is part of the outside of the pitch.
O Touches the rear panel or the brackets on the panel.
A player is out:
O When one of its supports touches the sideline or the ground outside the pitch.
O When it is in the air and one of its supports touches the line or the outside of the ground before it jumps.
REPAIR: Balloon handed to the opponent for a throw-in behind the nearest touch line.
DETAILS:
O An outgoing player becomes active again as soon as he puts a support on the field and does not keep any support off the field.
O The coach must always stay in his area off the court.
O The referee can be placed on or off the court.
8-The rule of 3 seconds
How long can we stay in the racket (the restricted area)?
A player must not stay more than 3 seconds in the opponent's restricted zone when his team controls the ball in its front zone and the stopwatch is running.
The 3-second rule no longer applies:
O When a player shoots a basket
O When the dribbler continues to dribble to shoot
O When the player concerned tries to leave the restrictive zone
After a shot the count starts again when the ball is recovered by the attacking team.
REPAIR: Balloon handed to the opponent for a throw-in behind the nearest touch line.
9-The 5-second rule
A player has 5 seconds to:
O Perform a throw-in
O Shoot a free throw
O Dribbling or getting rid of the ball when it is narrowly marked by an opponent
REPAIR: Throw-in for the opponent behind the nearest sideline or the next free throw.
10-8 seconds and back
A team that controls the ball in the field must bring it to its front zone (cross the center line) in less than 8 seconds. Once the ball is in the front zone, it must not be returned to the rear area. The ball is considered in the front zone as soon as it touches the ground or a player who has both feet in the front zone. A dribbler is in the front zone when his two feet and the ball touch the ground in the front area. The center line is part of the back area.

REPAIR: Throw-in by the opponent behind the nearest touch line.
