essay about tourism in salalah

Salalah is a port city of the Sultanate of Oman located on the Arabian Sea at the foot of the Jebel al Qara. It is the capital of the most southern administrative entity, the Dhofar governorate.
History
In 1932 it became the capital and preferred residence of Sultan Saïd ibn Taimour, and remained until 1970 when his son and successor Qabus ibn Saïd decided to transfer the two functions to Muscat.
Geography

While Muscat - the national capital - lies to the north of the sultanate, Salalah is the second center of gravity and the second largest city in the country. It is separated from the first by a vast desert space and several mountainous barriers: Djebel al-Qamr to the northwest, Djebel al-Qara to the north, and Djebel Samhan to the north-east.
transport network
Salalah has a large container port1 and an airport (ICAO Code: OOSA).
Sports
The city has two stages:
• the Salalah Sports Complex;
