Dar Al Hajar is a historical building in Yemen and is located
in Sana'a - Wadi Dhahr during the 18th century AD. The stone house was built by
hand
Ali bin Saleh al-Ammari and called this name relative
to the granite rock on which this house was built. [1]
The palace dates back to the late 18th century when the king
of Yemen, Imam al-Mansur Ali bin Abbas, and his minister, Ali bin Saleh
al-Amari (1736-1798), who was famous for architecture, astronomy, poetry and
literature, ordered him to build a palace in Wadi Zahar to be his summer
palace. Historians say it was built on the ruins of an ancient spa palace known
as the Citadel Fort, which was built by al-Hameiryun in 3000 BC. The fortress
was destroyed by the Turks four hundred years ago and was restored at the
beginning of the 20th century by Imam Yahya Hamiduddin after he was succeeded
by a number of Yemeni kings. He is currently a tourist destination for
thousands of people around the world. [2] The construction was in its primary
way for years, until Imam Yahya bin Humaiddine added the upper floor (the
freed). [1]
The stories related to the beginning of the building and the
construction of Dar al-Hajar vary from one story to another. Some stories
indicate that the house was demolished dozens of times but was rebuilt again.
Architectural style
The palace consists of seven roles, coordinated with the
natural composition of the rock (the foundation of the structure) and at its
gate there is a perennial tree, which is 700 years old.
And enter the house through a wide corridor paved with huge
stones to reach a break, is located on the north and overlooking a circular
water basin built of black stone.
