What is a low cost airline?

Low cost airlines, which first appeared in Europe with Ryanair and EasyJet in the 1990s, are literally companies that offer cheap, “low cost” plane tickets. Today, they provide flights between various major French cities and Europe, but also more and more long-haul flights around the world, in greater comfort than that offered by medium-haul.

Book a low cost flight: the pitfalls to avoid

In general, with low cost airlines, many options are subject to additional fees: check-in, seat selection, meals, drinks, checked baggage and sometimes in the cabin. So remember to take a careful look at the prices in detail to avoid any disappointment and unforeseen expense once you arrive at the airport. When making your reservation, also remember to look at the number and duration of stopovers. Indeed, the low price of the ticket can be linked to a very long total flight duration. Finally, note that if you miss your plane, few low-cost airlines offer a refund, whatever the reason.
